MARKHAM: It was a feast of colours, costumes and semi-precious couture jewellery with a contemporary yet vintage-infused flare.

The Main Street at Unionville in Markham went aglow as models walked the ramp at the second annual fashion show OGAAN (unity) on June 22.

The ramp queens showcased a collection of brocades, silks, chiffons and georgettes in floor-length anarkalis, sarees and bridal wear bridging hands with Dagmar Jewellery where each piece was handcrafted by the finest craftsmen, many of whom have worked on priceless pieces of Royal treasures.

Organized by Silver Tulip, the fashion destination in Toronto, and DAGMAR Jewellery, a unique house of handcrafted jewellery, OGAAN was attended by a large number of people.

Said Shibani Sahney, head of Silver Tulip, “We are presenting our latest collection where the artistic elements of fashion trends, colours, embroideries and styles blend together to fashion inspired and innovative unique handiwork.  This creative collection has been designed with a focus on the jewellery.”

Added Sushma Kilachand, North American partner and co-designer for DAGMAR jewellery, “DAGMAR Jewellery presented their platinum Line called A Parisian Affair where each couture piece is the culmination of Parisian femininity juxtaposed against the opulent hues of India`s Erstwhile Royalty.  One of the first global brands to introduce the concept of “Couture” to semi-precious jewelry, the Collection is an ensemble of antiquity inspired fusion pieces.’’

Emceed by Renu Mehta of Imagebuilderz, OGAAN showcased the latest trends in fashion and jewellery in Canada.
