MUMBAI: Bollywood’s Pakistani actress Veena Malik, who last month married a Dubai-based Pakistani businessman Asad Bashir Khan Khattak, has announced her retirement from the masala film industry.
The announcement by the 29-year-old former actress comes after she performed Umrah with her husband and his family in Mecca.
“Well-wishers from all over the globe, whether east or west, India or Pakistan, have been congratulating and blessing us with their prayers,’’ Veena said.
However, the former dare-bare babe said she will continue to do film projects related to social welfare.
“As far as the entertainment industry is concerned, I will continue to engage in any project which aims for welfare or social development. But I will not be part of any new films from hereon.’
Dubai-based Veena told Pakistan’s Express News, “Of course, I will keep coming to Pakistan. But this time, the credit goes to my husband Asad, who brought me back from India and says we will soon visit Pakistan.
“But currently, our families are spread across US, Dubai and Pakistan. So these are the three places you will mostly find us in.’’
