The Canadian Bazaar

TORONTO: The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began its fifth annual distracted driving campaign on Monday, March 12, to penalise drivers who don’t pay full attention to driving or are driving under the influence of alcohol or some intoxicants or are speeding over the limit.

Those found guilty of distracted driving face three demerit points and fines up to $1,000.

Distracted driving could even lead to charges under the Highway Traffic Act and the Criminal Code of Canada, leading to big fines and jail.
