TORONTO: Toronto, the biggest city of Canada, is bracing itself for this winter’s first snow storm that will dump up to 10 cm of snow on Tuesday night as a major low pressure system from the Gulf of Mexico heads for eastern Ontario.
Environment Canada says widespread snow mixed with rain is expected late Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday evening, especially near Lake Ontario. The storm will end Wednesday. About 10 cm of snowfall is expected from north of Toronto to the Peterborough areas.
The weather alert said most places will receive 2 to 5 cm of snowfall. Many areas near the Lake Ontario shoreline will see little accumulation. As a result, commuting on Wednesday morning will be affected.
