TORONTO: Toronto’s Pearson International Airport has become the second busiest airport in North America by receiving a record by receiving 40 million passengers in one year. The figure is likely to touch the 41-million mark by the end of 2015.
Only New York’s John F Kennedy International Airport handles more passnger traffic than Toronto.
The passenger traffic has been growing at the rate of seven percent at Toronto International Airport, which is served by more than 40,000 employees.
By generating revenue worth about $35.4 billion, the Toronto airport accounts for 5.6 per cent of the total GDP of Ontario.
