MUMBAI: A Goa court on Saturday extended the police remand of Tehelka editor Tarun Tejpal for four more days.
Tejpal, who has been charged with sexual assault on a junior colleague last month in Panaji during the magazine’s `Thinkfest’, was produced before the court on the expiry of his six-day remand on Saturday.
He was arrested on Nov 29 after his bail anticipatory bail application was rejected.
Shoma Choudhury, former managing editor of Tehelka, is also in Panaji to record her statement in the case.
Shoma was the first person to whom the victim had complained about the sexual assault on her on Nov 7 and Nov 8 through an email. The email got leaked and the issue became public.
Taking suo moto notice of the case, the Goa Police registered a case against Tejpal.
Three other former journalists of Tehelka, who quit the magazine after the incident, also recorded their statements on Friday in Goa.
