NEW DELHI (NEWS): As former Pakistani military dictator Pervez Musharraf returned home on Sunday after living in self-imposed exile London and Dubai since 2009, the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) says it is ready to send him to hell soon.
“We have prepared a special squad to send Musharraf to hell. There are suicide bombers, snipers, a special assault unit and a close combat team,’’a Taliban video sent to Reuters news agency says.
“It is said when the jackal’s death is near it comes to town,’’ said, Adnan Rasheed, who took part in a previous attempt to assassinate Musharraf, in the video. Rasheed was among 400 prisoners freed from jail by militants last year.
But Musharraf, who landed in Karachi from Dubai to a huge welcome by his All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), said, “I am here to save Pakistan. I am not scared of anyone but Allah.” He said he has returned to make Pakistan that the Pakistanis will be proud of.
Earlier, before left Dubai Musharraf addressed a press conference on Saturday telling the Taliban that he was not scared of any “hollow” threats.
“I resigned in August 2008 and stayed there till April 2009, without the kind of security I had as a president. I’m not the kind to be scared by such threats made only with words,’’ Musharraf said.
Musharraf said, “I have written a letter to them (Pakistani government) as well to provide me with the security I’m supposed to get as an ex-president. But still, I don’t rely on them. I have my own security.”
The Taliban want to take revenge against Musharraf for joining the US-led war on terror after the attacks of 9/11 and for ordering major operations against militants.
It must be remembered that Benazir Bhutto was assassinated when she returned to Pakistan in 2007 after living in exile for years.
