NEW DELHI: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC), a subsidiary of the Indian Railway, is set to undertake spiritual tourism from April 18 when it starts the the special ‘Panj Takht Train’ from Chandigarh to link all the five Sikh takhts.
The 10-day trip will cost Rs 9,072 per person. The passengers will be get sleeper-class coaches, morning tea, breakfast, lunch, evening tea and dinner.
They will also get accommodation, housekeeping and transport facilities at all the Takhts. Tickets can be booked at www.railtourismindia.com
The journey will take pilgrims to Hazur Sahib in Nanded, Patna Sahib in Patna, Damdama Sahib in Bathinda, the Golden Temple in Amritsar and Takht Anandpur Sahib.
The train will stop at SAS Nagar, New Morinda, Sirhind, Rajpura, Patiala, Dhuri, Bathinda and Delhi Safdurjung to pick up and drop passengers.
The IRCTC is also introducing another special train called ‘Teen Takht Train’ on April 18 from Chandigarh to take pilgrims to Hazur Sahib in Nanded, Patna Sahib in Patna and Damdama Sahib at Bathinda. This eight-day trip will cost Rs 7,422.
