NEW DELHI: A suicide bomber in Pakistan blew himself up in Gulshan Colony of Peshawar, killing 15 and leaving 22 injured, Express Tribune reported on Friday.
The blast occurred in the Hussaini Madrassa in the area, destroying it. There were 40 people inside at the time of the blast. They had assembled for Friday prayers when the bomber struck.
Reports said the bomber was shot at when he and his two accomplices tried to enter the madrassa through the main entrance. But he managed to enter the madrassa through a second gate and blow himself. The bomber reportedly intended to reach the prayer leader, however, the leader wasn’t present at the scene, Express Tribune said.
The report says the bomber was about 22 years old and had six kg of explosives on himself. Police gathered body parts for further investigation.
