NEW DELHI: Looks like the Aam Aadmi Party is fast turning out to be a party of self-promoters.
How long has the party existed? Just over a year.
And how long have these so-called party workers, who flocked to the AAP only after its good showing in Delhi, been in this party? Just a few months.
AAP needed candidates with a high profile to contest because of its short life in politics. But now it seems that everywhere these self-seeking party activists are calling the chosen candidates as `parachute candidates’. What a joke!
Those who have been a few months in AAP think they are the veterans in this party. And these jokers call these candidates `parachute candidates’?
These jokers are seasoned activists, who have flocked to AAP from other parties to further their agenda.
They have just forced known TV and film personality Savita Bhatti to withdraw her candidature from the Chandidate Lok Sabha seat.
Savita is the wife of the Jaspal Bhatti who was the pioneer of humour on Indian television in the 1980s with his hit programmes such as Flop Show.
Savita is a known face in Chandigarh and would have done well in the elections.
But party activists with their own aspirations have forced her to quit.
AAP is now just like any other political party – full of power-hungry activists.
