MUMBAI: A play scheduled for September 26 in Pune in which jailed Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt was to act has been cancelled for security reasons.
Sanjay was to act in the play for his Yerwada Jail inmates and the prisoners’ welfare association.
The play was to be held in a Pune auditorium, but it was cancelled at the last minute as there are security threats to Sanjay Dutt who is undergoing 42-month jail term at Yerwada Central Jail in connection with the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts.
Reports say the Maharashtra chief minister and the home minister were to witness the play. Even Sanjay Dutt’s wife Maanayata and his sister Priya had reached the auditorium before the play was cancelled.
