MUMBAI: Wrestling champ Sangram Singh’s Bollywood dreams have been shattered. Uvaa, which was supposed to be Sangram’s launch as a leading man, now features him only in a guest appearance .
Sangram realized this to his horror only when he dubbed for the film recently.
Says a source close to the wrestling champion, “Sangram was given to understand that he was the leading man of the film. Uvaa was the story of a bunch of youngsters and their sports teacher played by Sangram Singh. But now the focus has shifted completely to the youngsters. When Sangram saw what his role was reduced to, he requested the producers to give him a ‘guest appearance’ tag.”
According to sources, Sangram has refused to promote the film as he feels he has been “seriously betrayed” by the makers of Uvaa.
When contacted Sangram Singh who was getting ready to leave for South Africa said, “I am done with the film. Jo hona ttha ho gaya. Now I am looking forward to my first wrestling championship in three years in South Africa. I’ve signed a death contract which means the organizers won’t be held responsible for any injury, no matter how grievous.”
