NEW YORK: Just before South Korean electronics giant Samsung unveils its new flagship smartphone the Galaxy S5 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, new leaked images confirm that the device will have a fingerprint scanner.
As per images reportedly clicked by a Hardware Zone forum member named OKCATYEON, the Galaxy S5 will feature a physical button on the front panel, and have a ridged lining around its body.
As for the fingerprint scanner, the leak says users will have to swipe eight times on the home button to register it. The Galaxy S5 is capable of registering three different fingerprints at a time.
As rumoured, the Galaxy S5 will have a 16-megapixel rear camera. Among other new features, it will have a heart rate sensor in it S Health app. The Galaxy S5 comes with IP67 dust and water resistance.
Till now, rumours mills have said that the Galaxy S5 will have a 5.24-inch AMOLED screen with resolution of 1440×2560 pixels.
Run by a 3200mAh battery, it will have two processor variants of Exynos 6 and Snapdragon 805.
With a 3.2-megapixel front-facing camera, the Galaxy S5 will offer RAM options 32GB and 64GB; two processor variants.
Samsung controls over 30 percent of the global smartphone market, against rival Apple which has about 15 percent share of the market.
