MUMBAI: In Sooraj Barjatya’s film Prem Ratan Dhan Payo Salman Khan abandons his bratty image to play Maryada Purushottam, the ideal man.
According to the buzz from the Salman camp, Aditya Pancholi – who is very close to Salman Khan – has apparently been treated to rushes of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.
Though he doesn’t admit to having seen Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Aditya predicts, “It will be one of the biggest hits of Salman’s career, even bigger than Hum Aapke Hain Koun.”
I probed a little about what made him feel this way. And Aditya says, “Every mother and child would love Salman and the film. Every woman in the audience would want a brother/husband/son like Salman in Soorajji’s film. He plays the Maryada Puroshottam. The Ideal Man.”
Aditya is ecstatic about his dear friend Farha Khan’s film doing well. “It’s going to be the season of the Khans. Shah Rukh’s Happy New Year is breaking all records. And the records of Happy New Year would be broken by Aamir Khan’s PK in December. But Salman’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo would break the records of both the earlier record-breakers.”
While details of Aditya’s exuberant prophecy are not obtainable, one can reveal from another source that Salman plays “the sweet innocent Prem of Swach Bharat in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.”
Says the source, “It is very much the cinema of Narendra Modiji’s India. The hero is 100 percent swadesi. He reveres Indian values and revels in Indian customs. He is an obedient son and a caring lover.”
The film, we are told by the reliable source, is meant to clean out Salman’s bratty image.
“This is the return of the noble soul he played in Sooraj’s Hum Aapke Hain Koun and Hum Saath Saath Hain.”
