MUMBAI: Audiences will never have the chance to see Rekha and Amitabh Bachchan together again on the big screen.
Hopes were raised recently when film producer Firoz Nadiadwala and director Anees Bazmee said they were in talks with Rekha and Amitabh to rope them in for their film Welcome Back – the sequel to their 2007 hit Welcome.
The Big B was reportedly asked to play of a don and Rekha was offered the role of a wealthy fashionista.
Now the news is that while Amitabh was ready for the film, Rekha has backed out. She has turned down the offer as she is doing another film Super Nani and its dates are clashing with that of Welcome Back.
In Super Nani – the film by Indra Kumar, Rekha plays the role of the grandmother of Sharman Joshi.
Rekha and Amitabh were last seen together in Yash Raj Films’ Silsila in 1981.
