Since this was his 50th concert in the year, Khan Sahab made it very clear in the beginning of the concert that tonight it’s not just going to be a concert; it will be a celebration and he wanted all his fans and the audience to be part of this special occasion.
In fact, before the concert he told a press conference it’ll be one of those concerts which Chicago has never seen in the past.
The concert started off with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan singing his uncle Nusrath Fateh Ali Khan’s song “Allah Hu.” The audience knew right away that tonight’s going to be special as the maestro went on to entertain every segment of the audience. Three songs before the end of the concert, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan introduced his entire team to the audience, and also got on stage his manager and the local promoters “Bhavesh Patel and Babu Patel” of Sahil; and “Mayur Patel and Nick Patel” of L.A.Tan.
Khan Sahab ended the evening with “Dam Mast Khalandar” as every person in the arena was on their feet and danced. Interestingly, Rahat Fateh ALi Khan was dressed in a special kurta from SAHIL for the occasion.
Among his most notable achievements are the soundtrack for the 1995 Hollywood film Dead Man Walking in collaboration with Eddie Vedder, the lead singer of Pearl Jam, alongside his uncle Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
