MUMBAI: It was touch-and-go in Udaipur on Saturday afternoon when producer Pooja Bhatt was shooting with director Prawaal Raman and her actor Richa Chadha and Randeep Hooda.
Reports filtering in from Udaipur indicate there was a massive showdown with the local administration where Pooja, according to sources, was verbally abused by a police officer.
When we contacted Pooja she did not mince words about the altercation.
Says Pooja, “There was no altercation from my unit’s side. The SP of Udaipur Hariprasad Sharma was an on ego-fuelled power-trip. He got physically abusive with my unit.”
Shockingly, Pooja divulged that she was verbally abused by the cop. “He abused my director Prawaal and me simply because he was asked to wait for five minutes while we canned a shot.”
The bizarre abusive story doesn’t end there.
Says Pooja, “The situation got worse. They bundled my co-producer into their van and took him to the police station. No reason was given.”
The shocking incident brings to light the risks faced by film units in crowded locations where the local administration flexes its muscles just to show film folks their place.
