LONDON: A gang of Pakistani brothers in Rotherham in Britain, who groomed white girls for sex, has been given long jail terms by a court. Jailed also is their shameless uncle.
The three brothers – Arshid Hussain (40), Basharat Hussain (39) and Bannaras Hussian (36) – and their uncle Qurban Ali (53) have become known as the Rotherham gang.
These monsters, who groomed 15 teenage white girls for sexual exploitation, were jailed for a total of 102 years on Friday.
While Arshid Hussian got 40 years in jail, his younger brother Basharat got 25 and Bannaras 19. Qurban Ali got 10 years behind bars. Their sentencing followed two months of trial
Arshid Hussain was the leader of this sex grooming gang which was unearthed in 2014. Arshid, who is the father of 18 children, made seven of teenage white girls pregnant.
These Pakistani-origin monsters exploited the vulnerable teenage girls sexually, physically and emotionally over a period of 16 years. The youngest of the victim was just 11 years old.
The Hussain brothers and their uncle committed their sexual crimes with the help of two white women – Karen MacGregor (58) and Shelley David (40). The two women were also jailed for 13 years and 18 months respectively.
This is the first conviction of a sex grooming gang in Rotherham in the wake of the 2014 Jay Report which said that nearly 1,400 girls were sexually exploited in the town. Most of the perpetrators were men of Pakistani origin, according to the report.
