NEW DELHI: Even as Indians come to terms with the shocking gangrape of a photojournalist in Mumbai last Thursday, here comes even more shocking news of a school hostel warden in Arunachal Pradesh being booked for allegedly raping 14 minor girls.
According to reports, the accused Vipin Wisvan raped the minor girls – from ages of 4 to 13 – over three years at a school in West Siang district.
The culprit kept the young girls quiet by warning them with dire consequences. When these girls reportedly complained to the principal, no action was taken against the accused.
His alleged misdeeds came to light when some of students jumped over the boundary wall of their hostel on Tuesday and went to the nearby Likhabali police station to report the matter.
Swinging into action, police arrested Vipin Wisvan, the school principal and two other members of the staff.
