NEW YORK: South Carolina’s Indian American Governor Nikki Haley Randhawa has kicked off her re-election campaign as she faces Democratic rival Vincent Sheheen in the 2014 elections.
Fellow Indian American Governor Bobby Jindal of Louisiana was present at the kick-off of Nikki’s campaign for re-election at the BI-LO Center in Greenville on Monday night.
Also present were Texas Governor Rick Perry, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott and many other prominent Republicans.
“If you think what we did in the first 2.5 years was great, wait until you see what we do next,” said 41-year-old Nikki Haley, kicking off her re-election bid amid the singing of `American Girl’.
Nikki, who was born to Sikh immigrants Ajit and Raj from Amritsar, is banking on her record in employment creation to get re-elected as the Governor of South Carolina.
