NEW DELHI: Even as Arvind Kejriwal was being sworn as the new chief minister of Delhi on Saturday, there was no VIP treatment for his wife Sunita and son Pulkit who had sit with the common people at the oath-taking ceremony at the Ramlila Maidan here.
Sunita and her son spoke to the Hindi channel Aaj Tak about what they think of Arvind Kejriwal.
Aaj Tak: “Did you feel that Kejriwal would be able to reach this point?”
Sunita Kejriwal: “Yes, we felt. And in the future too, he will continue to work like this.”
Aaj Tak: “You have always seen that when he was working for RTI and then he pushed forward Anna Hazare’s movement and now he will take oath as the chief minister…”
Sunita Kejriwal: “Yes, he is hard working and passionate.”
Aaj Tak: “How big a challenge do you see with the Congress supporting the AAP from outside?”
Sunita Kejriwal: “The challenge is big but people are with us and people will work. Arvind is not alone.”
Pulkit Kejriwal: “I am very happy that papa and all the party workers, who were working day and night, and many of them had come after quitting their jobs like papa, the effort of all of them is going to succeed today. Earlier, when people used to get into politics, it was said that he is going to serve the country. Now, if anyone goes into politics, it is said that he is going to become a VIP.” (Courtesy Aaj Tak/India Today Group)
