LONDON: A lock of Mick Jagger’s hair was on Wednesday bought by an anonymous bidder for 4,000 pounds ($6,000), according to auction house Bonhams.
The leader singer Rolling Stone turns 70 on July 26.
The lock of hair was sold by his former girlfriend Chrissie Shrimpton whom met Jagger when he was an unknown student at the London School of Economics in the 1960s.
“Mick Jagger’s hair after being washed + trimmed by Chris at Rose Hill Farm,’’ so said the message written on the envelope containing the hair lock that was handed over to the unknown bidder.
The money will go to the charity called Changing Faces that helps people with facial disfigurements.
This weekend, the Rolling Stones are going back in time to the late 1960s to replicate a woodland when they perform at London’ Hyde Park.
