MUMBAI: A Pakistani court in Lahore will take up hearing of the sex video case involving Bollywood actress Meera and her pilot husband Naveed Shahzad on April 2.
The sex video featuring the couple was posted online in January. But it was removed by the Pakistani telecom regulatory authorities after Meera’s request who called the video fake.
Meera claimed that someone with a ‘Meera face mask’ filmed the video to defame her. She also demanded that the video should sent to the US for forensic evidence because Pakistan doesn’t have such technology.
Meera’s husband said that since they are a married couple, there should be no controversy. The couple alleged they have been getting emails to blackmail her.
But petitioner Shabbir Muhammad says that Meera and her husband have “tarnished Pakistan’s image” by doing the alleged sex video and must be hauled up in the court.
Taking cognizance of his petition, the additional district and sessions court in Lahore had on March 18 ordered the couple to appear before it on March 25. But Meera and her pilot husband, who are settled in the US, failed to appear before it on March 25. The court issued a show-cause to police for failing produce them and arrest warrants against Meera and her husband.
The next hearing is on April 2.
