MUMBAI: Far from contemplating a quick return to acting as reported by certain speculative sections of the media quoting “sources”, Manisha Koirala- who is steadily healing in the US after a bout of serious illness – plans to write an account of her brush with mortality rather than return to the arclights.
A very close friend of the actress says, “Manisha has no immediate plans of resuming her acting career. Her first priority is getting back her health, to be fully cured. But while the healing happens she has begun to write a book on her experience in the past few months when she suddenly discovered she had cancer. To describe her illness as a life-changing experience would be an understatement.”
This friend says Manisha wants to put it all together as a motivational book.
Says the friend, “Manisha now wants to share her life-changing experience with all those out there who don’t know what lies in store for them around the next corner. As for films, they will come but not right away.Manisha never tired of saying cinema is not the be-all end-all of her life. She now feels that more strongly than ever.”
Says Manisha, “I’d love to take up some acting assignments as I will return totally fit. But I won’t do any substandard projects. I’d love to work with Mani Ratnam Sir and some others of his calibre.”
