Leggy beauty Shanzay Hayat crowned Miss Pakistan World 2013

TORONTO: Shanzay Hayat, the 23-year-old beauty from Seattle, was crowned Miss Pakistan World 2013 at a glittering pageant in the Toronto suburb of Mississauga on Friday night.
Shayan Farooqi, 28, from Sugarland in Texas, went home with the title of Mr Pakistan.
At the packed Rose Convention Centre, the shortlisted contestants were put through various rounds of the contest before the best two were adjudged Miss Pakistan World and Mr Pakistan.
At the 11th annual beauty pageant, famous Pakistan actor Naumaan Ijaz was on hand as chief guest to crown the winners.
The leggy beauty Shanzay Hayat beat out seven other contestants to take away the Miss Pakistan World crown.
In the final quiz round, the judge asked her that if she were to win the Miss Pakistan World crown and then get a call from Nawaz Sharif to become prime minister of Pakistan for 24 hours, what one law she would pass.
With her poise, Shanzay Hayat said that education of women was the most important issue in Pakistan and she would pass a law to educate every woman. Once women have education, she said, they will change society.
In earlier rounds, Shanzay won applause for her belly dance. The new Miss Pakistan World was also adjudged Miss Popularity, Miss Talent and Miss Perfect Ten.
Twentytwo-year-old Asiya Flower from Mississauga was adjudged the first runner-up and Gizella Mandi, 24, from Oshawa near Toronto, the second runner-up. Syeda Naqvi, 20, from Brampton on the outskirts on Toronto was declared third runner-up and Karishma Khogiani the fourth runner-up. Karishma was also adjudged Miss Photogenic.
For the Mr Pakistan title, Shayan Farooqi beat out seven other contenders to emerge the winner. His good looks and superb performance in earlier rounds and his quick and witty answer in the last quiz round went in his favour.
When the judge asked Farooqi if he wins the Mr Pakistan title what advice he would give to Imran Khan so that he wins the next elections.
In his smart reply, Farooqi said that in his opinion Imran Khan has already won the elections, and he would want Imran to keep doing what he is doing right now. The new Mr Pakistan also took home the title of Mr Personality.
Javed Maher, 24, and Talha Ahmad, 19, both from Mississauga, were adjudged second and third runners-up. Ahmad was also chosen Mr Perfect.
Zohaib Rana, 27, from Mississauga, was adjudged Mr Photogenic.
Some past winners of Miss Pakistan World and Mrs Pakistan also joined the contestants in celebrating the beauty and culture of Pakistan.
Sonia Ahmed, founder-president of Miss Pakistan World, thanked Naumaan Ijaz and other guests for coming and making the pageant a success.
It was the third year of Mr Pakistan and the 11th year of Miss Pakistan World.
