NEW DELHI: The Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Hyderabad has failed to test voice sample of Punjabi rapper Honey Singh in the connection with the `Main Hoon Balatkari’ case.
Honey Singh, who has refuted singing the obscene song and blamed someone else for faking his voice, had given his voice sample last month in Chandigarh on the direction of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
The Punjab and Haryana Court was petitioned in April this year by Punjab-based NGO called HELP seeking ban on Honey Singh for singing `Main Hoon Balatkari.’
The petition had said Honey Singh’s song passed limits of obscenity and posed a threat to women’s decency.
But now the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Hyderabad, which was given Honey Singh’s voice sample, says it doesn’t have the wherewithal to test the voice and has returned the voice sample to police and Honey Singh’s lawyer.
In a letter, the Hyderabad lab says, “This is to inform you that it is not possible to accept the exhibits sent in the above case as this laboratory does not have the facility to authenticate/compare the audio and video filed. As such all the exhibits sent vide letter under reference are returned unopened.”
The next hearing in the case is on December 11.
