MUMBAI: By raking in Rs 25.5 crore on its pre-Diwali opening, Krissh 3 has broken all records.
And on its second day, the film earned Rs 23 crore.
“#Krrish3 is fabulous on Day 2. Despite pre-Diwali festivities at its peak. Collects 23 cr [Hindi + Tamil + Telugu] on Sat. Outstanding!” tweeted trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
The movie, which is part of Rakesh Roshan’s franchise of sci-fi superhero and is the sequel to Koi Mil Gaya and Krrish, is receiving unprecedented response just like the two previous films.
Krrish 3 is also doing very well in overseas markets.
Tweeted Adarsh, “#Krrish3 Thu + Fri *Overseas* total: $ 1.5 million [9.26 cr]. Superb! #Krrish3 has opened to a fab response in Pakistan. Fri biz: PKR 95 lacs [54.88 lacs].’’
By collecting over Rs 48 crore on its first two days, Krrish 3 has in fact surpassed Dabanng (which collected Rs 39.1 crore in first two days) and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (Rs 39.61 crore).
“The pre-Diwali period is always considered dull by the industry. But a film like ‘Krrish 3’ can change the mindset,’’ said Taran Adarsh.
So will Krrish 3, the Hrithik-Priyanka starrer which has reportedly been made on a budget of Rs 100-150 crore, collect Rs 100 in first week and then surpass the Shahrukh-Deepika starrer Chennai Express which recently broke all box-office records during its Eid release?
From Eid release to Diwali release, let us whether Krrish 3 chugs past Chennai Express. But right now cash registers are ringing for Rakesh Roshan thanks to this Diwali dhamaka.
