MUMBAI: Bollywood stars such as Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar may not be willing to be paired with Sunny Leone, but the Indo-Canadian porn star has reportedly been signed by director Kaizad Gustad for his upcoming comedy-thriller.
Sunny, who has already featured in two films – Jism 2 and Shootout At Wadala – and is shooting for her third film Ragini MMS 2, will one of the five-member cast which includes Sachiin Joshi. Kaizad is reportedly trying to rope in Naseeruddin Shah also.
According to reports, Kaizad is planning to shoot this comedy thriller in Goa next week. Since it is only one location film, the shooting may finished soon. The likely names being touted for the film are Jackpot or Full Jhol.
There has also been talk of Sunny Leone being considered for director Anees Bazmi’s sequel to Welcome. But Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar, who were to be paired with Sunny in the sequel to Welcome, shied away from being associated with the former adult actress.
Anees recently said, “It’s being made out that they (Anil and Nana Patekar) are family men with and therefore embarrassed about being seen on screen with her. As if I, the director of the film, am okay with the idea. Let me make it very clear that I was not at all interested in signing her. My films are for family audiences. I don’t know about Anil or Nana. But I didn’t want her in my film. I make comedies. But I can never be accused of anything risqué.”
Sunny Leone, 32, who was born Karenjit Kaur Vohra in Sarnia – two hours’ drive south west of Toronto – came to the Indian entertainment industry in 2011 when she entered the reality show Big Boss without disclosing her status as a porn star. But it was during her participation in Big Boss that she was offered a role by Mahesh Bhatt in Jism 2 (sequel to the 2003 film Jism that featured Bipasha Basu). Later, she was signed by Ekta Kapoor for Ragini MMS. In Shootout At Wadala, Sunny featured in the item song Laila.
The porn star says she is now dreaming of doing films with Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor and top Bollywood stars.
“It’s been a year or so (in film industry) and I love being here. I am new to this industry, but I am open to doing romantic and comedy films. I want to romance both Salman and Ranbir. I want to act with both of them. I liked ‘Bodyguard’.. it was fun to watch Salman,” she said at the launch of the music of Shootout At Wadala.
Sunny Leone and her husband Daniel Weber have also bought a penthouse in Mumbai. “It is a three-bedroom flat, we are on the top floor with a 1,500 square foot terrace, which overlooks the ocean,” according to Sunny.
