TORONTO: Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird will be the chief guest and Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne the keynote speaker at the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce (ICCC) Annual Awards and Gala Night on June 8 at the Metro Toronto Convention Center.
Over a thousand guests and members of all levels of government, leading entrepreneurs, professionals, decision-makers, and academics attend the event.
This is the ICCC’s marquee event where the organization promotes trade and commerce between Canada and India and recognizes the achievements of the ‘best of the best’ Indo-Canadians by presenting awards in several categories, including Lifetime, Outstanding Achievement, Humanitarian of the Year, Female & Male Entrepreneurs, Female & Male Professionals, Young Achievers, Technology Achievement and Corporate Executive of the Year.
In addition, the President’s Award is given to acclaimed heroes and the Member of the Year Award to those who excel in volunteerism and community service every year.
The theme this year is: Partnering Economic Growth – A Time to Soar.
Past galas have hosted leading Canadian keynote speakers, including Prime Minister Stephen Harper, former Prime Minister Paul Martin and former Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty.
This year’s gala will provide a blend of the formal with the informal, as well as an intermix of a lavish dinner and entertainment, award presentations and speeches.
