An Indian bride became so infuriated by the kiss of her would-be father-in-law on her cousin that she called off her marriage at the last minute.
The groom returned not only without his bride, but was also forced to return wedding gifts and pay expenses for the marriage ceremony.
This incident happened at Nagla Khairband village near Farrukhabad in Kanpur district in Uttar Pradesh.
Ruchi, daughter of Parmeshwari Dayal of Nagla Khairband village, was set to tie the knot with Rajesh of Nehru Nagar in Etah district.
But the groom’s father Baburam spoilt everything at the Jaimala ceremony when he kissed bride’s cousin. This horrified the bride and her family.
The bride decided to call off the marriage and told the groom’s party to return empty-handed.
The groom’s father apologised for his indiscretion, but it was too much for the morally conservative bride.
According to reports, the wedding party was detained by the bride’s family who called in police. The groom’s family was forced to return the pre-wedding gifts and pay expenses incurred for the marriage ceremony.
