NEW DELHI: An IITian from Bangalore on Friday topped the all-India Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE).
Ankit Goyal, a Delhi student who did his B. Tech in electrical engineering from IIT Indore last year, secured the first rank in the GATE 2014 results. He had also topped in electrical engineering nationally at the IIT.
Interestingly, Ankit, who is currently an associate engineer with Qualcomm in Bangalore, had passed GATE last year by securing eighth rank. But he wanted to improve his rank and took the exam again this year, topping it and realizing his dream.
GATE is the gateway to post-graduation programmes at the IITs and the Indian Institute of Science.
But Ankit has reportedly said that he has no plans to quit his job and study at the IIT again.
