MUMBAI: The IIT Bombay Alumni Association (IITBAA) has joined hands with Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SINE) to set up Entrepreneur Forum to promote entrepreneurship among students, faculty and alumni globally.
The decision was taken at the three-day IITBAA Global Alumni Business Summit at the International Goa Centre.
Entrepreneur Forum will serve a platform for mentoring students and faculty members aspiring to set up their own businesses. IIT alumni, who have successfully established themselves, will guide them in entrepreneurship.
According to Bakul Desai, chairman of the IITBAA, “Through the association, we bring the wealth of a vast alumni network. While the younger alumni seek mentoring and funding, the successful and established ones can offer the same by sharing their experiences.’’
Prof Milind Atrey, who heads SINE, said, “The forum will be a place where start-ups can benefit from and contribute to a global network of mentors, entrepreneurs, technology innovators and investors. Having alumni as a client base is a perfect fit for the society as this is a target audience whose agenda is career enhancement.’’
