NEW DELHI: A Gurgaon pub owner has been booked and his pub sealed after over 100 school students were caught smoking hookah on its premises.
Gurgaon, on the outskirts of Delhi, has been known for its hookah parlours.
The pub, which is in a mall, was raided by the police when students – aged from 15 to 20 – were having a birthday party of one of their colleagues. They were found smoking hookah and booked.
The tradition of smoking hookah and serving it to guests is still prevalent in Haryana. But Gurgaon authorities banned serving of hookah some time ago.
The students were arrested. Police handed them over to their parents after registering their names and addresses of their homes and schools.
But the pub owner, who allowed hookah on his premises, has been booked. Police have also sealed the pub.
