MUMBAI: A Hindu organization in Goa wants the release of the film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, due out on July 12, postponed as it contains a song that offends the religious sentiments of the Hindus.
Hindu Janjagruti Samiti (HJS) says the song must be removed before the film is allowed to be screened.
The organization also held a protest rally in Panaji on Sunday and urged all theatre owners not to screen the film till the song was removed from the film.
According to HJS state convener Manoj Solanki, they have objection to the words ‘Havan Kund, Mastoka Jhund, Havan Karenge’ in one of the songs in the film.
Solanki was quoted as saying, “HJS demanded cancellation of the certificate issued to this film or keeping in abeyance its release till the controversial song is not removed from it.’’
Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is the biopic of legendary runner Flying Sikh Milkha Singh. Farhan Akhtar has played the role of Milkha Singh in the film.
