NEW YORK: Google’s multi-billionaire co-founder Sergey Brin has split from his wife of six years and begun office romance with a young executive.
Brin and Anne Wojcicki, both 40, are living separately, according to AllThingsD which broke the story on Wednesday, quoting a spokesman for Brin and Wojcicki as confirming that “they have been living apart for several months. They remain good friends and partners.”
Brin is now reportedly dating Amanda Rosenberg, 26, who has worked with Google since 2008 and moved from Wimbledon to Google headquarters early last year. She is the marketing manager for Google Glass which is the pet project of Brin.
Though Rosenberg was seen with Brin at New York Fashion Week, nobody knew that their romance.
Interestingly, Rosenberg was previously involved with another Googler Hugo Barra in Wimbledon.
Russian-born Brin, who has shares worth $21 billion in Google, is not likely to lose his fortune if he divorces Anne Wojcicki with whom he has two children. Anne Wojcicki is the CEO of 23andMe – a biotech firm in which Google and Brin himself have invested millions of dollars.
Curiously, Brin’s wife’s sister Susan has been one of Google’s first employees and is currently a top executive at the search engine giant.
Expect a soap opera to play out at Google as Brin’s romance with Rosenberg blooms and his marriage to Wojcicki ends.
