MUMBAI: Former Miss India and actress Gul Panag (AAP) is locked in a bitter poll battle with seniro Bollywood actress Kirron Kher (BJP) in the Chandigarh constituency.
This poll battle of two Bollywood celebrities has a curious angle.
Gul Panag once dates Kirron Kher’s son Sikander.
And the Twitter war between the two ladies is becoming a bit awkward for Sikander. Gul Panag is 35 and Kirron is over 58. And last week, Panag made fun of her much older rival, tweeting, “I doubt if I’ll have the energy to run around like this and serve my people when I’m 60. I guess that’s why there’s normally a retirement age.’’
Responded Kirron Kher, “My father is 101 years old and still happening. He said, ‘Good Luck Puttar. You have always been a winner.’ For me Life starts at 60.’’
So in this dirty political battle between his mother and his former girlfriend, whom is Sikander supporting?
“I want my mother to win. She will be good for Chandigarh. When it’s your mom who’s contesting, any child would root for her,’’ he has been quoted as saying by Mumbai Mirror.
But then he adds, “This is not a battle betwween my mom and Gul only. It’s a three-way fight between Kirron Kher, Gul Panag and Pawan Kumar Bansal (Congress).”
Will he go to Chandigarh to campaign for his mother and against his ex-flame?
“I am not campaigning for my mom and I will not even be going to Chandigarh on poll day. But I am happy for her. My mom has very strong views on most subjects and I wish her all the best,’’ says Sikander.
Is he still touch with Gul Panag?
