NEW DELHI: “Gooooooddd Morrniinnnggg Dellhhhiiiii !!’’
That is how (clumsily) Delhi Police greeted people of the Indian national capital on Friday.
And it delivered a great news to Delhiites, saying, “All ye early birds and late risers, Hear! Hear! Hear! Over 400 prosecuted yesterday for not carrying valid PUC Certificate!’’
What is PUC? It is Pollution Under Check certificate that every vehicle have to get to drive of the city roads.
Putting out the (plate) numbers of those prosecuted the previous day, the post advised people, “Puhhlleease carry PUC Certificate IN ORIGINAL to avoid prosecution. Share! Share! Share!’’
From its language, its seems the post has been written either by someone knowing very little English or some student.
And Delhiites responded with sarcasm and amusement to the post.
“Puhhlleease’?? really??’’ mocked one user.
“Dillllli puhleease……dillllli puhleeease,’’ commented another.
“Not bad to start light hearted early in the morning,’’ said another facebook user.
Notorious for its own cops and vans flouting traffic rules, Delhi Police also got some nasty response.
Said one, “If Delhi Police can be taught to know and follow the traffic rules then that would be a great start.’’
Asked another, “Delhi Traffic Police, did you ever check you PCR vans or the police persons driving their bike without helmet or PUC.’’
