MUMBAI: Dhoom 3 has become the biggest Bollywood grosser, collecting over Rs 503 crore worldwide since its launch on December 20.
The Aamir-Katrina starrer has grossed Rs 354 crore (Rs 266 crore nett) at the domestic box-office, while its overseas earning stand over Rs 155 crore.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “In terms of *gross BO numbers*, #Dhoom 3 is the first Hindi film to cross ₹ 500 cr mark *worldwide*. Creates History.’’
All Bollywood box-office records to have fallen to Dhoom 3, and this Yash Raj Film has become the all-time Bollywood blockbuster.
The film earned Rs 56.80 crore worldwide on its opening – the highest ever by any Bollywood film.
In India, Dhoom 3 made the biggest opening day collection of Rs 36 crore, beating Chennai Express which had collected 33.10 crore on its first day.
The film also recorded the biggest single day collection in Bollywood history by raking in Rs 36 crore, beating the previous biggest one-day collection of Rs 35.91 crore by Krrish 3.
Dhoom 3 also made history by making a record non-holiday Friday collection, beating Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Debanng 2.
It also created the record of a single-day highest collection in the Gulf region by earning $1,279,000 on its opening day.
In Australia, the film collected $172,300 on its opening day – a record by a Bollywood film.
It collected $210,000 in Pakistan on its opening day – which is a record.
In North America, the film made the highest opening day collection of $1,100,000 – yet another record.
In Britain, Dhoom 3 collected $400,000 – which is the highest non-holiday opening day collection by a Bollywood in the UK.
