Dharmendra is out on promoting the film. He was in Kolkata on Saturday where he bemoaned the lack of good story tellers and held up Satyakam as an example of good story. In fact, he urged everybody, particularly politicians, to watch Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s 1969 classic which won the National Award.
Talking to the media at PVR Cinemas at Avani Riverside Mall in Howrah, Dharmendra said, “I think telling the truth has stopped today. In Satyakam I told the truth and it was a very good story. I think every politician should see the film.’’
The star of Sholay and many other films added, “Good films are being made but characters like those in Satyakam and Bandini are no longer there in our country.’’
Garam Dharam, who never hides his emotions, said he is saddened by what has happened to Sanjay Dutt, adding that his `heart weeps’ for Sanju.
“He (Sanjay Dutt) is like my son. I grieve for every person who commits a mistake and gets punished for it. When it happens to a family member, my heart weeps. The film industry is our small family and Sanjay Dutt is like my son. Law will take its course, and I pray that my son Sanju is released fast,’’ Dharmendra said.
