MUMBAI: Garam Dharam Paaji actor Dharmendra has bagged an brand endorsement at the ripe age of 78.
The Okaya Power Group, which manufactures inverters and UPS batteries, has roped in the veteran star as its brand ambassador.
Not only was Dharmendra appointed as their brand ambassador, but he was also given the Okaya Lifetime Achievement Award at a function here on Thursday.
The Sholay actor thanked Okaya for choosing him as their face.
“I am honoured to receive the lifetime achievement award from Okaya Power Limited. The Okaya brand has a huge reputation for quality, reliability and performance and I am delighted to be their brand ambassador,’’ said Dharmendra.
Dharmendra came to Bombay from Sahnewal in Punjab after winning the all India Filmfare talent contest at the age of 23.
The top hero of the 1960s and 70s, Dharmendra said in an interview earlier this year that he never bothered to be No 1 or No 2.
But he said he is a little upset as“there is no mention of mine in 100 years of cinema in which I have done 54 years.’’
