NEW DELHI: Delhi Police have arrested an engineer working with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC)on charges of raping his live-in partner.
The engineer Jitendra Kumar, 30, was booked and then arrested after his 24-year-old live-in partner accused him of raping her for months.
According to the woman’s complaint, she met the accused some time ago. He promised to marry her and the two started living together in an apartment in east Delhi’s Yamuna Bank.
The woman, who is employed in a private firm, has said in her complaint that after some time Jitendra Kumar refused to marry her.
In her FIR, the victim woman has said she was “raped her several times in the last couple of months when they were living together,’’ according to police.
In another shocking incident of gangrape in the national capital region (NCR), a girl from Delhi was abducted by some car-borne criminals and later gang-raped by eight persons in the neighboring city of Faridabad.
The girl was reportedly waiting to catch bus for Delhi when she was offered a lift by the car occupants. She was driven to an isolated place and raped by the five occupants of the car. Their three accomplices also joined them to take turns to rape the girl.
After the gangrape, the perpetrators dropped the girl back at the bus stand and drove away. The victim went to the nearby police station and reported the matter. Police have arrested seven men and looking for the remaining one. All the accused belong to Palwal in Haryana.
