NEW DELHI: Mafia don and Mumbai serial blasts mastermind Dawood Ibrahim, who is hiding in Pakistan, has been named as the mastermind of the Indian Premier League (IPL) spot-fixing scandal.
In its 6,000-page charge-sheet filed on Tuesday, the Delhi Police has put the blame on the underworld don for the scandal. It is he who engineered the spot-fixing scam, sitting in Pakistan.
Three Rajasthan Royals players – S Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan – also figure in the charge-sheet.
He is among 39 people who have been named in the charge-sheet for cheating and conspiracy under the Indian Penal Code and the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).
The charge-sheet has also found fault with the conduct of the IPL.
