Britain’s top property landlord has banned `coloured people’ from renting his homes because they leave them smelling of curry.
Fergus Wilson, 70, who owns hundreds of properties in Kent, in an email to a lettings agent, says, “No coloured people because of the curry smell at the end of the tenancy.’’
The pugnacious tycoon has already banned victims of domestic violence, single adults, single parents, low-income workers, families with children, pet owners and smokers from renting his properties, according to the Sun.
Why victims of domestic violence? Because they damage his units by kicking doors and punching holes in the interior.
The tycoon told the Sun, “To be honest, we’re getting overloaded with coloured people. It is a problem with certain types of coloured people – those who consume curry – it sticks to the carpet. You have to get some chemical thing that takes the smell out. In extreme cases you have to replace the carpet.”
Not surprisingly, he is under fire from anti-racism groups and could be sued for racial discrimination.
