TORONTO: Starting from January 30, 2014, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) will accept certificates from Ontario’s provincial language training program as proof of language proficiency from those applying for citizenship.
This was announced by Citizenship and Immigration Minister Chris Alexander on Tuesday, january 29, in Ottawa.
Till now, applicants were required to pass language tests from only CIC-approved institutions and programmes.
With the acceptance of Ontario’s provincial Adult Non-Credit Language Training Program, applicants will have one less hurdle while sending their applications for citizenship.
