MUMBAI: Bigg Boss contestant Armaan Kohli, who was arrested on Monday on a complaint filed by former contestant Sofia Hayat, was released on sureties of Rs 50,000. He was not produced in court and released by police after his father and a friend stood as sureties for Armaan.
Police said Armaan was allowed to go back to the Bigg Boss house as his offence is bailable.
Pakistani-British model Sofia had accused him of assault after her eviction from the Bigg Boss house and filed a case against him on Thursday.
In retaliation, Armaan had also slapped a defamation case against Sofia after she filed the assault case against him.
Armaan has been booked under Sections 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 504 (intentional insult to provoke breach of peace) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to outrage the modesty of a woman), Section 294 (obscene acts and songs), Section 506 (criminal intimidation) and Section 354 a (sexual harassment) of the Indian Penal Code.
