MUMBAI: The Hollywood Reporter has listed Anupam Kher among the top five actors in Asia.
Other Asian actors on the list are Li BingBing (China), Lee Byung-Hun (South Korea), Iko Uwais (Thailand) and Aaron Kwok (Hong Kong).
In a tweet on Saturday, Kher said, “Happy to share. Hollywood Reporter in its latest issue has listed me among the five best actors in Asia. I am the only Indian. Jai Ho!.’’
One of Bollywood’s most international actors, Kher has appeared in some major English language films such as Silver Linings Playbook, You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger and Midnight’s Children.
Kher, who landed in Mumbai with just Rs 37 in his pocket and slept at railway stations made his Bollywood debut in the Hindi film Aagman in 1982.
Since then, the 57-year-old Kher has won a record eight Filmfare awards and worked in major films such as Saaransh, Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Karma, Darr,and Veer-Zaara.
