MUMBAI (NEWS): Bollywood star Ajay Devgn turned 44 on Tuesday.
The actor, who brings intensity and a bit of brooding to his characters whether it is Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar in Prakash Jha’s Gangajaal, or Bhagat Singh in The Legend of Bhagat Singh, says on his birthday, “From my first film to the ones that followed later, I’ve been very lucky. I never had to really struggle except putting in hard work. Ten years ago, my films were doing well. Then there was a slack period and again in the last 4-5 years, things have been good for me. But even in my bad times, films have always been there and I’ve always had the choice”.
Devgn, who married the equally talented Kajol in 1999 after five years of dating and gave his fans recent hits such as Son of Sardaar and Bol Bachchan, says he planned anything in his life. “Things have just happened for me. I started with action films and went on to do Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Thakshak and Zakhm. I learnt a lot from those films.’’
Born Vishal Devgan to director Veeru Devgan, the actor made his Bollywood debut with Phool Aur Kaante in 1991 which won him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut that year.
