MUMBAI: Pakistani-origin singer Adnan Sami has been asked to leave India immediately by the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) led by Raj Thackeray.
The Sena alleges that Adnan has been staying in India illegally as his visa expired on Oct 6.
The Sena’s ultimatum to British-born Adnan came when he meet their leaders in their office.
Maharashtra Navnirman Chitrapat Karmachari Sena president Amey Khopkar said the Sena called him after they got reports that he was staying illegally in India. The Maharashtra Navnirman Chitrapat Karmachari Sena which is the film wing of the MNS.
Khopkar said, “We told him to leave the country as his visa has expired. We told Sami that our priority would be our artistes.’’
Sami reportedly mentioned his Indian visa dates during the hearing of his divorce case against his former wife Sabah Galadari in a court here.
According to the Sena, Adnan’s visa was valid till October 6.
