MUMBAI: For VIPs in India, there are no laws even if they are in jail. They can flout any rule books and get away with that.
So it happens in the case of actress Sanjay Dutt who is lodged in Pune’s Yerwada Jail to serve 42 months in connection with the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts.
Some media outlets have carried a photograph of the actor posing with film director Rajkuamr Hirani and top jail officials inside the jail.
Hirani reportedly went to meet Sanjay on September 24 when the jailed actor was taking part in a jail function.
Now how did Rajkumar Hirani reach the jail when he needs a special permission under jail rules which allow monthly visits only by family members? Not only this, jail superintendent Yogesh Desai also posed with Sanjay Dutt and Hirani.
Maharashtra’s vigilance department has ordered an inquiry as to how Rajkumar Hirani arranged meeting with Sanjay Dutt when special permission from higher-ups was required. This is a VIP treatment for a convict!
