MUMBAI: Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan turned 49 on Friday.
The actor, who celebrates his birthday mostly at home, told the media that he will devote 2014 to his TV show ‘Satyamev Jayate’ which tackles social ills facing India.
Aamir, whose Dhoom 3 broke many box-office records in 2013, has only one film this year. It is Rajkumar Hirani’s Peekay due out in December.
“This year, I am dedicating all my time to Satyamev Jayate. Only Raju’s Peekay will release towards the end, but there’s no other film. So, my whole year is for the show,’’ the actor told media persons at his residence.
Aamir said he was happy with the success of Dhoom 3. “I was glad that all our hard work paid off.”
The actor said he has divided the second season of Satyamev Jayate into three parts. The first part has four episodes, out which two have already been telecast.
“We will return with a few episodes in July, and then we will come back with some episodes in a month towards the end of 2014.’’
Aamir also mentioned the recent defamatory campaign against him on a social networking website.
“Social media is also such where people can spread any information anonymously. I feel sad. I am trying to do my bit, but I know our janata know what’s true. They have been seeing me and my work for 25 years, Aamir said.
